Accommodation
We are delighted to welcome you at Il Borro for our wedding and want to make sure you enjoy your Tuscan holiday in comfort as much as we will enjoy having you with us!
Il Borro is a large estate that can accommodate all of our friends and family. After we decided on having a destination wedding, we were confronted with the problem of identifying a truly unique venue where everyone (100 + people) could be together on one property. Il Borro fits the bill and means we can spend the most quality time with all of you.
The main villa will be occupied by our immediate family and the wedding party, and will be the setting for our wedding reception on Sunday evening. The adjacent Medieval Village and surrounding farmhouses will provide guest accommodations. We recommend that you stay onsite at either one of the restored village houses or private farmhouses for the duration of the weekend as it will erase any issues of transport, maps or late night taxis.
Given the unique nature of the accommodations, some of the houses will need to be shared. Taryn Mahoney has a catalog of the units and we have prepared a potential list of “house mates” for those of you that know each other. Please note, while we can make recommendations on where to stay on the property, you are required to officially reserve each one of the units. Taryn may assist you in this process, as well as answer your questions prior to officially booking. Please feel free to contact her via email or phone.
One last note, the estate is rustic with a wonderfully accommodative and seasoned staff. However, it is not a 5-star resort with on-call service. Accommodations are best compared to a rented home in Tuscany. For those of you that would like to stay in a 5-star hotel our recommendation is Villa la Massa which is a stunning 16th Century estate on the banks of the river Arno approximately 40 minutes from Il Borro. Should you like to inquire about this option, Taryn has additional details that she can provide upon request.
